Bursaries Enabling Strategic Training
Philip Omwaga is a theological student supported by us here at All Saints in his training at St. Pauls United Theological College in Kenya. Pray for him as he studies for a BD Degree which he will be completing in January 2009.
He writes the course will help me gather more knowledge and enhance my future ministry. He will be given wide responsibilities by his diocese, eg.
Working with young people;
training Sunday School teachers;
evangelism and mission;
pre-training for potential pastors;
as well as being the pastor of a parish all of this will be very demanding.
Philip asks for prayer for his studies, and the new challenges he is getting in his course. Pray that his personal time for reading the Bible and for prayer wont be crowded out.

Hope for the world.
Friday Focus 11th July 2008
The G8 world leaders met this week and made decisions that affect everyone of us.
Psalm 2 1-3 Why do the nations plot, and why do their people make useless plans? The kings of this earth have all joined together to turn against the LORD and his chosen one. They say, "Let's cut the ropes and set ourselves free!" In heaven the LORD laughs as he sits on his throne, making fun of the nations. The LORD becomes furious and threatens them. His anger terrifies them as he says, "I've put my king on Zion, my sacred hill." I will tell the promise that the LORD made to me: "You are my son, because today I have become your father. Ask me for the nations, and every nation on earth will belong to you. You will smash them with an iron rod like dishes of clay. "Be smart, all you rulers, and pay close attention. Serve and honour the LORD; be glad and tremble. Show respect to His Son because if you don't, the LORD might become furious and suddenly destroy you. But He blesses and protects everyone who runs to Him.
Praise God: for the decision made to ask UN to appoint a special envoy to Zimbabwe; for Bob Geldof urging G8 leaders to honour promises made to the poor nations of the world.
Give thanks: that a G8 Prayer Summit took place at the same time in Japan with Christians coming from many nations to worship and pray into the G8 discussions.
1 Timothy 2: 1-3 The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Saviour God wants us to live. The Message.
Pray: for the G8 leaders as they wrestle with these complex issues on a daily basis; for Gods purposes to be fulfilled in our world today; for breakthrough in issues that that the G8 nations have made commitments to; e.g. climate change, economic development and poverty reduction and for the continent of Africa, which continues to lag behind on progress.
Pray: In the light of Gordon Browns comments referring to a Global economic downturn.
Lord, let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Consider: praying for a G8 leader today.
